Facebook is one of the most popular social network on the entire planet. There is no secret there. But, did you know that Facebook is the 5th most visited website on the entire internet every single day? The social networking site Facebook has a huge active community. It is reported that of the 200+ million active users, about half of them can be logged in each day. Facebook is a free-access social networking website that allows users to join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and even the region you live in to connect and interact with other people. You can also add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.

Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg founded with his fellow Harvard University computer science major students and his roommates Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Their initial website was a membership site limited to students of Harvard, then expanded to other Ivy league schools, working its way down through high school students that were 13 and over.

Facebooks’s name refers to the paper facebooks depicting members of a campus community that most colleges and preparatory schools give to incoming students, faculty, and staff as a way to get to know other people on campus. Mine at one time was put in a book form and given out to all students.
