You only have to go to Hawaii one time to fall in love with this island paradise. There is so much to see and do in Hawaii. Everyone we meet was so happy and helpful as well. How can you not be if you are in paradise all of the time? Everything is so vivid in color on the islands. The greens are so rich in color and the flowers are like no where else. They are large and colorful and found all over the island. The ocean is a unique shade of blue as it dances across the white sands that make up Hawaii’s beaches. We had so much fun there. We talked to many people that were visitors just like us and they loved Hawaii as much as we did. I think they may have been talking to a Hawaii real estate company before they left. All they could talk about was how nice it would be to live in Hawaii. There is real estate available for those that can not imagine living anywhere else and there are many that feel that way. We had a hard time leaving but we will definately return.

When we bought our home it was not an easy process. First we had to be pre-approved and anyone that has been through that process knows how exhausting it can be. Then once they approved us we had to decide what we really felt comfortable with. We would see a home that we really liked and go back and forth with the sellers on the price and then we would wear out our amortization calculator to see if we would be comfortable with the payments. We had a payment in mind but it seemed that we were not able to match the home we wanted with the price that we had in mind. This of course is everyone’s problem when they are looking for a home. We knew if we kept looking that we would be able to match what we wanted with what we could afford and then one day it happened. We found a home we loved and we thought that we could not afford it. When we did the math we were shocked at the price that we were able to get it for. When the numbers came up on our amortization calculator we just smiled and we knew this was the house. We have been happily living in our dream home every since.

Can you imagine coming home to a flooded basement? For a friend of ours they had to imagine nothing! We were gone for a few days and had so much fun. Our friends had bought their home a short time before our trip. While we were on our trip there was apparently a really large rain storm. It rained for several days nonstop. You could tell when we drove up that there had been a lot of rain just by the look of the yard. The neighbors greeted us telling us of how much rain they actually had. When we went in we had no idea what we were about to witness. We went into the down stairs to put up some of our gear and there was literally a stream of water to our knees. It was from one corner to the next and all of their things that were being stored were floating in it! We were shocked and lost on what to do. Everything down there was ruined. It took a long time to get the water and the smell out of the area but after it was all over he had his basement waterproofed and it has never leaked again. The funny thing is he had no signs that it had ever leaked before but for some reason it choose to leak then. With all of the prevention that they have taken I can not imagine it ever leaking again.

People are becoming more comfortable with buying homes again. Although the move is slow the market is recovering in small steps. This is helping people looking for a new home to get loans. There are government and FHA mortgage loans as well home equity loans available for those people that are ready to take the plunge. It is a buyers market as well. Some homes have been for sale for a long time and sellers are wanting to sell them. That means a better price for buyers. Being able to get more house for the money is a buyers dream. Being able to get a fair price for a home that you want is also a big incentive. Buyers are finding that they can afford a better home then they thought because of the market. Once the buyers start buying homes the market will turn itself around. It will start to loosen up and before we know it the real estate will begin to heal. It all starts with the buyers. The real estate market has a huge influence on all other markets so the whole economy will slowly become healthy again.

These are just a few of the reasons when visitors come to Charleston they want to return. Some want to stay and that is what keeps the Charleston realtor so busy. The area features rental as well as properties for sale which means there is something for everyone. We enjoy visiting relatives each year and there is always something going on.

People are looking for ways to make their homes as maintenance free as possible. This desire for an easier style of living has led many people to metal roofing. It is basically maintenance free. Being a lighter weight material there is less of a weight burden put on your structure. Panels are smaller then the old style of metal roofing and have a four way hidden interlocking design to fasten them so there will be extra protection against leaks. It is energy star qualified which translates to a lower energy bill. Made from 25% to 95% recycled material metal roofing is 100% recyclable which makes it a green product. If you are concerned about fading that has also been addressed. It is coated with a resin coating that protects it against fading. It is designed to last a long time as well so you will not be looking to replace it any time soon. If you have a damaged panel, which is rare, it can be replaced and the colors will match no matter the age of the roof because of the resin coating. After reading about the metal roofing of today I now understand why I see so many metal roof lines in my neighborhood.
