Over the last many years I have been in charge of many different types of networks, one of the most common things that you need when you are responsible for different types of networks is to be able to communicate with all of them. This has been done many ways from login changes, dial up modem access, FTP comes in handy from time to time and flash forward to current day to utilizing remote desktop software and possibility the internet to do computer terminal troubleshooting, server maintenance, file access and transfer or possibility of doing a remote terminal shutdown. The new generation of remote desktop software gives us business-oriented security with 256-bit encryption, double of the 128-bit encryption just a few years ago. I like that it enables us to gain access to both Windows and Apple computer systems and can provide functionality with security to allow a team to work on the same project. This newer versions of remote desktop software also has given raise to the work-from-home employees that many business use today. I like being able to bounce back and forth from servers to PC’s or maybe do remote support and walk an employee though a process to enable them to get their job done. Remote access software has allowed an employee to work and perform procedures from just about anywhere in the world.
