There are different things that make a promotion work and one big thing are the giveaways. We were at a business convention recently and noticed many people gathered around a table. We worked our way through to see what had everyone’s attention. It turns out it was the promotional umbrellas that the company was giving away in an effort to launch their new company. They had done their research and had the perfect giveaway particularly because it was a rainy day. The problem was no one could figure out what their product was. No one I asked knew what they actually sold either but everyone commented on the great umbrellas they were using as their promotional giveaways. I took a card from the table that simply had a website on it. When we got back to our hotel we looked it up only to find they sold…you guessed it… umbrellas!
