We had a split-level home that we felt safe in. That was until one day I had locked the door and we realized my house key was on the kitchen table. We could see it but that did not help us to unlock the door! My five year old son said that he knew a way to get in and no sooner had he gone around the house he came through the front door! I could not believe my eyes. When I asked him how he had done it he said that the French doors open up when you pull them at the same time. I had not done that before and did not know it. I then felt uneasy about our home as we went to bed that night and spoke to my wife about our alarm system we installed at work. I then asked what she thought about a alarm system for home. Much to my surprise she had been thinking about it as well. I traveled and she felt like her and the kids would be safer when I was not home with an alarm system. We had used an ADT system at work so we called them out and they went through our home and suggested exactly what we needed to be safe. He showed us how to use the keypad and my favorite part we installed our sign outfront. I have moved since then but we still rely on ADT to protect our home whether we are at home or not. It just makes me feel that when I can not be there to watch over my family and home ADT is. That piece of mind is priceless!
